POSITION TITLE:
Dishwasher
REPORTS TO:
Site Manager
SALARY / PAY RANGE:
$15.50 - $17.00 per hour
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
♦ Wash pans, utensils, dishes, bowls, plates, glasses, cups, and kitchen equipment by hand or machine, as needed
♦ Operate the automatic dishwasher
♦ Sweep, mop and clean the dishwashing area
♦ Remove all trash from dishwashing area and place in dumpster
♦ Make sure dishwasher area is kept clean, with everything put away
♦ Practice kitchen safety and cleanliness
♦ Assist in any area of the kitchen or dining room, as requested by the site manager or cook
♦ These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required
Knowledge of:
Operate and maintain the dishwasher, ensuring it functions efficiently and maintains the appropriate temperature for optimal cleaning. Inspect and determine the cleanliness of dishes, food contact surfaces, and the overall cleanliness of the kitchen area.
Skills in:
Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to food service in a commercial kitchen
Abilities to:
Communicate effectively in English
Learn to do tasks as assigned
Accept supervision
Maintain cooperative working relationship with the staff and volunteers
Effectively handle duties and responsibilities as outlined above
Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs
QUALIFICATIONS:
♦ Access to transportation
♦ Provide evidence of reasonable good health
♦ Have no health condition that precludes job performance
♦ Upon request, must provide evidence of being free from TB
