Laura joined Meals That Connect in September 2022 as Resource Manager. Within 8 months she was promoted to Executive Director, after the retirement and 17-year tenure of Elias Nimeh. She has been serving nonprofits for over twelve years in a Leadership and Fundraising capacity, combined with fifteen years of private sector management experience in Conservation Agriculture, Marketing, Fundraising, Sales, Brand Management, Events/Hospitality, and Facilities. She has a proven track record for aligning diverse stakeholders for common goals and growing organizations by leveraging a win-win philosophy in all that she does.
As the primary caretaker for her 84-year-old mother, also an MTC volunteer, Laura understands the many challenges seniors face today. From that place of compassion and perspective, Laura attributes her creativity to the program. Laura has a degree in Environmental Policy & Planning from Western Washington University. She enjoys her life on the Central Coast with her sweetheart, two kids, a large garden, and many animals.
